The first peoples to use robes were the ancient Egyptians and Romans. The Chinese and Japanese also started using robes for traditional ceremonies. The bathrobe did not start as a bathrobe; it all began from the traditional ancient robe. It is amazing how much robes are a part of history, especially during ceremonies.
